2020 may be the trash can of all recent years, but it’s still summer and we all deserve to treat ourselves. You know what they say….when life hands you a global pandemic, make delicious cocktails (6 ft apart).
To get our summer buzz on, we teamed up with professional mixologist Richard Allison of Root Bitters to create a cocktail so delightful, you’ll feel like you’re floating on Summer Islands.
And with that, we present the Summer Islands cocktail, influenced by our graphic tee of the same name.
Root Bitters says the inspiration behind the Summer Islands cocktail was to use refreshing ingredients such as lemon, mint, botanicals, and herbal notes. He describes the design as having multiple layers with the ocean, mountains, and palm trees so he used this idea in the recipe to give it that beachy summer vibe.
See the recipe below:
Recipe:
2 oz of Empress gin
.5 oz Orgeat
.5 oz myer lemon juice
.75 oz pineapple mint syrup
.25 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
Garnish: Mint Sprig
Build: muddle mint in a glass. Add all ingredients except for gin and shake. Strain into chilled highball with ice then add gin. Garnish and serve.
